So, here is my original blog post from Monday night...
Tonight's class we discussed DOK's which I severely needed help with. Thanks to great classmates, I was able to find much needed information to help me along! We also discussed different types of reading strategies that I took notes on for future lesson plans. I am starting to really enjoy creating lesson plans! I really like using a web orginzer for any kind of research activity. This can be used for individual work or group exercises. I would use this type of strategy for older students in 4th, 5th or 6th grade.
I also like the quick writes! That would be something I can do with any grade level. I see all sorts of grades doing quick writes and journal writing. Its good for students to think about what they have done and get in some good writing practice.
I love that we have books that give us different strategies to use! Definitely helps me a lot. I typically wanna use brainstorming right at the beginning and have my strategy out of the way, but I am glad I get to see various other strategies as well.
ReplyDeleteThe books are a definite for me! It's difficult for me to come up with strategies for my lesson plans, but I find that the book has some great resources to use. I also agree that I need some practice with the DOK questions, but I am finding them easier to come up with.
